Landmark Productions is one of Ireland’s leading theatre producers. Led by Anne Clarke, the company produces wide-ranging and ambitious work in Ireland and tours Irish work abroad.

Since its first production in 2004, the company has produced twenty-three plays – including six Irish premieres and eleven world premieres – in Dublin.

Its productions include the Irish premieres of David Hare’s Skylight, Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, Glen Berger’s Underneath the Lintel, David Harrower’s Knives in Hens and his Olivier Award-winning play Blackbird.

The company’s recent work includes Enda Walsh’s The Walworth Farce, starring Brendan Gleeson, Brian Gleeson and Domhnall Gleeson, together with the multi award-winning musical Once, which will return to the Olympia for a third successive year in the summer of 2017.

Landmark’s co-productions with Galway International Arts Festival include three plays by Enda Walsh: the world premieres of Arlington, which will play at St Ann’s Warehouse in New York in May 2017, and Ballyturk, which toured to Dublin, Cork and to the National Theatre in London, together with Misterman, starring Cililan Murphy, which toured to St Ann’s and to the National Theatre in London.

Mark O’Rowe’s Howie the Rookie, starring Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, played at the Barbican in London and at BAM in New York, where it was co-presented by the Irish Arts Center as part of BAM’s 2014 Next Wave season.

Other recent productions include Paul Howard’s Breaking Dad, and the world premiere of a new opera by Donnacha Dennehy and Enda Walsh, The Last Hotel.  A co-production with Wide Open Opera, it had its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival in August 2015, before touring to the Royal Opera House in London, to the Dublin Theatre Festival, to St Ann’s Warehouse in New York and to Les Théâtres de la Ville, Luxembourg.  A film version of the opera, commissioned by Sky Arts under its Amplify programme and co-produced with Brink Films, was broadcast in April 2016.

Landmark Productions received the Judges’ Special Award in The Irish Times Theatre Awards for 2011, in recognition of its ‘sustained excellence in programming and for developing imaginative partnerships to bring quality theatre to the Irish and international stage.’  Anne Clarke received the Special Tribute Award in The Irish Times Theatre Awards for 2015, in recognition of her work ‘as a producer of world-class theatre in the independent sector in Ireland’.
